Sydney Symphony – Flower of Youth
Sydney Scene | Shane | June 2, 2009 at 3:32 pm
Mozart and Mendelssohn didn’t live long enough to grow old, but their music has survived the ages. Mendelssohn’s Octet was the work of a 16-year-old – it’s perfect in its mastery but it’s also fresh and full of imagination.
Mozart was the grand age of 28 when he wrote this piano concerto, but he too came up with something fresh: a new sense of intimacy in what was normally a very ‘public’ genre. In this concert young Melbourne-based pianist Amir Farid makes his Sydney Symphony debut.
When?: June 04
Where?: City Recital Hall, Angel Place, 7PM
